FAQ's

As Hydronic Heating becomes more popular in Australia, a few common misconceptions still exist.

It’s important to point out that Hydronic Heating doesn’t just rely on underfloor heating. In fact, it can be installed in almost any home using radiator panels (if underfloor heating isn’t an option).

And the reality is, that modern Hydronic Heating systems have become surprisingly affordable and more common in Tasmanian homes; especially in heritage renovations, new homes and luxury homes.

Where are you located?

We’re based in Hobart, but install hydronic heating systems in homes all throughout Tasmania.

Yes. Modern wall radiator panels are perfect for renovations and can be installed cleanly and efficiently with minimal disruption.

The energy efficiency of an “air-to-water” heat pump makes it one of the most affordable systems to run, giving you lower, more predictable energy bills and very stable, warmth in your home.

One of the major benefits of Hydronic Heating is that these systems are made to last long term. And whilst some of the equipment comes with 8 – 10 year warranties, Hydronic Heating systems have been known to last decades without any significant maintenance or replacement equipment.

This is one of the common myths about Hydronic Heating. And whilst yes, it would be nice to have lovely warm heated floors; Hydronic Heating systems mostly rely on radiator wall panels to warm each room (if underfloor heating – in a concrete slab – is not available).

You have complete and simple control. The system is managed by a sleek central thermostat, and each radiator panel allows you to set different temperatures for different zones. Most of our systems include a smartphone app control, so you can see exactly what temperature your home is at and to control the system while you’re away on holidays, for example.

Hydronic heat is different from a fan heater; it creates a deep, lasting warmth rather than a quick blast of hot air. Our systems are still very responsive and you’ll feel the room grow comfortably warm within 30-60 minutes. However, the aim of hydronic heating is to maintain a stable, cosy temperature; whilst also being very efficient and affordable to run.

Hydronic systems are renowned for their reliability and need very little ongoing maintenance. We recommend a simple annual service to check the heat pump and system pressure, much like a car service, to ensure it runs at peak performance for decades.

Absolutely. Powered by a highly efficient heat pump, our systems are one of the greenest ways to heat your home. They’re incredible efficiency means you drastically reduce your home’s overall energy consumption. Typically, they run from electricity which is the most efficient & “green” form of energy available in Tasmania, however, yes, we can create systems that run from natural gas or wood burners – which are very efficient in their own right.
